Flying with Super Heroes - Singapore Cable Car

Imagine you were standing at the peak of Mount Faber, 100 metres above the sea.

The buzzing city under your feet, you turned to your side and there they were...

Super heroes on a mission to save the world!

You thought that was AWESOME...
and then you lifted up your head and saw...

“It’s a bird! It’s a plane!... It’s Superman!” and more, he was flying with Singapore Cable Car!

Yes, that was how thrilled the kids were. They were not just boarding the cable car for the first time, they were on their first mission with the Super Heroes.
We started the day having breakfast and crafting capes fit for super heroes at Spuds & Aprons.

Breakfast, the super hero style - My super baby having his super hero cupcake.
After breakfast and a presentation by the organizers, it's crafting time!

That's me trying to show Chubby what we were going to make.

Because Chubby only recognized Superman, I had little choice but to make a Superman cape for him.

I cut out the pieces and got Chubby to help with sticking them together.

Tadahhh!!!
This is my Super Hero!

Upon donning his cape, Chubby started his super hero duties right away - zooming around the dining room and making friends with other super heroes.

They cheered and rooted for their respective themed cable cars, not knowing that there wasn't a competition. :p

Who's cooler? Superman or Super baby?
Cape checked, Super hero attitude checked. Off we went to save the world on Singapore Cable Car!

Chubby and I, with the world at our fleet and Superman by our side. Woo hoo!

After our joy-ride, the girls and daddy came to join us for more fun together.  They had ballet classes earlier thus, were only able to join us in the afternoon.
The girls made their capes at the craft booth.

Chubby defeated the Joker
and had his Super Heroes Tattoo done.
Then, off we went for more cable car rides with all 3 kids!

We downloaded the free 'Fly with Super Heroes' app and had much fun taking photos with it.

This app is available on both Google Play and iTunes
The Super heroes came to live when we pointed the phone at the QR codes on board.

We had so much fun at Mount Faber that day. Thank you Singapore Cable Car for having us, the kids had a ball of a time flying with Super Heroes and enjoying the scenery.
Happy kids on Singapore Cable Car

Why won't you sleep? (aka The night my girls camped in our living room)

It's half past 3am now and I cannot sleep. I am extremely tired but I cannot catch a wink, I cannot rest my head down because my little girls are sleeping in our living room tonight.

This was what happened...
For months, we've been struggling to tuck Renee into bed, and keep her on her bed through the night. Daddy sleeps in the same room with the girls (while I sleep with our youngest next door), yet she just won't stick to her bed.

Last night however, she slept decently early (not too far off bedtime) but Shanice started waking up a times times through the night and woke Renee up in the process. It seemed like our eldest was having sleep issues too. For 3 consecutive nights she's been waking up at unearthly hours saying that she had nightmares. It seemed like a likely cause at first until when I further probed... turned out to be more like her excuses to snuggle in with a parent.

Tonight particularly, she said she didn't want to sleep in her bed. I asked her why and she reasoned that since Renee gets to sleep with daddy, she should too.

So the hubby has been allowing short cuts for the meimei to reduce the disturbance at night and the jiejie is feeling indignant. In a fit of anger, I sent the girls to the living room and told them they can sleep there for the night if they don't like their beds .

To my surprise, meimei was the one who took it at her stride and slept through the night on the play mat. Jiejie however, kept wailing until daddy lost it once, I blew up twice, then she finally gave up and slept at 2am.

If this is a consequent for bad behaviour, I am not sure who is paying for this - the child or everyone else in the house.

Honestly, I would if I could carry them both to their beds once they were asleep. But I couldn't and I shouldn't because it was a lesson they needed to learn. I wanted them to learn to appreciate what they have and not live in envy - Why meimei gets this and that and i don't?

This whole sleep training thing has been long overdued and way to painful for everyone at home. I cannot wait for it to be over.

My little girls, please don't hate me. One day you will understand how precious sleep is. I haven't quite slept well since the day Shanice was born. You need to understand that your bedtime does not equate to mine. I sleep much later as I need to catch up with work. I need u to sleep on time so that I can get some sleep too. You really need to help me here. Unless you want a short tempered, sleep-deprived mom-ster screaming at u throughout the day, please do yourself a favour - Stick. To Your. Beds.

Updated at 11.30am:
The kids are now camping in the living room, nicely tucked into their 'sleeping bags'.
Not sure if I should be happy that they don't seem to have hard feelings from the 'camping' experience last night or worried that the girls would prefer to spend tonight in the living room too. -.-!

Dinner at Bricks N Cubes

Have you been to Bricks N Cubes?
Yup, the Lego themed cafe at The Cathay. We were there last Sunday for dinner. Here's blogging down our experience there.

The husband has been wanting to dine there for a while, and since the kids were reasonably well-behaved that day, we decided to head out for a treat.
The girls changed did's diaper and even prepared his outfit for him before we headed out.
I must say I was very impressed.
Off to Bricks N Cubes we went! It was pretty amusing to see little faces (and big boy's face) lighted up the moment they saw the little cafe - that was many many Lego in one cafe.

Lego QR Code. How cool! I reckon it should work. Didn't try though.

Look! The Lego Man's taller than Nat!
There was Lego here...

and there....

and there too...
Basically everywhere! It's a LEGO paradise!

The kids were well entertained at the play area where there were lots of Lego and Duplo for all to play.
At the play area

Taa Dahhh! Here's what they built.
Taking a photo with their creation
Nat fascinated with what another kid built.

Pretending to sleep
We were seated at the Priority Seat for families.
It gave me a view of the kids while I sat back and skived :)

The kids were well-entertained even at the dinning area.
Pre-loaded Lego game apps in the in-store iPad which works as an electronic menu too.

Everything was AWESOME (I could sing to the tune of the Lego movie song!) until dinner arrived...

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you, the worst pizza I've ever had!
It was so bad, none of the kids managed to finish their slice. They usually enjoy pizza and would ask for second servings. I guess that pretty much said it all. We had pasta and some finger food too and they were okay.. mediocre but okay.

The consolation...

At least they served us decent gelato and the waffle was good.

Will we be back again?
YES, for play and desserts for sure. But save the pizza, and the pasta. I'd eat dinner somewhere else and pop by for play and desserts after.
